A Little About Our Pastor and Family
Ken Van Kampen and Carrie (Swanson) Van Kampen were both born and raised in Oak Lawn, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago. They were married in 1986. They have lived in Atoka since 2000 when Ken was called as pastor to the church. Carrie has served as a librarian at the Tipton County Library since completing homeschooling the three Van Kampen children in 2016.
Nathanael is married to Nahomy and living in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a 2nd year resident in anesthesia at UAB hospital and Nahomy is a PA serving in a local medical office. They have 2 daughters, Jean and Joan Avis (Storment) is married to Ben and living in New Albany, Mississippi.
Avis is a NICU nurse at Northwest Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo and Ben is the Youth Director at New Albany Presbyterian Church. They have two daughters, Calvary and Espen, and one son, Asher.
Jonah is a Senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and will graduate in May, 2025 with a Civil Engineering degree. He will marry Kellie Bentz a couple weeks after graduation and they plan to live in Charlottesville, Virginia where Kellie is a nurse and Jonah will work in the engineering sector
